Minecraft Bedrock 26.60.30 Preview: What’s New (October 2026)

Mojang has released Minecraft Bedrock Preview 26.60.30 (October 6, 2026) — the newest test build on the road to the 2026 Winter Drop. If you’re playing the preview, this is the build to be on: it follows 26.60.28 (September 22) and 26.60.29 (September 30).

What 26.60.30 itself changes (fixes only)

26.60.30 is a fixes-only build — no new content, but three welcome improvements:

• Smoother touch controls — the visual stuttering tied to touch input has been sorted out, which matters most if you play on a phone or tablet.
• Achievements work again in add-on worlds — if add-ons had wrongly switched achievements off, they come back on your first session in that world.
• Faster, more reliable Realms uploads — moving worlds from your device to a Realm now takes less time and needs fewer retries.

Winter Drop features carried over from 26.60.29

These arrived in 26.60.29 and are included in 26.60.30:

• Ice Caves — a new cave biome generating under cold Overworld biomes, filled with packed ice, calcite, hanging icicles, and glowing ice crystals.
• Frostbite zombie — a new zombie variant roaming icy biomes and ice caves. It attacks in melee (applying the Freezing effect) and throws ice balls at range.
• Freezing effect & ice balls — new mechanics tied to the icy content; defeating Frostbite zombies drops ice balls.

A note on versions

26.60.30 is a Preview (beta) build — great for testing upcoming features, but expect bugs. The latest stable release is Bedrock 26.52 (September 25, 2026 hotfix). If you want the most reliable experience, the stable build is the safer choice; if you want the Winter Drop features early, grab the preview.
